About Us...
We had collies and shelties when I was young. They were pets and were always registered.
I had the collie and my parents had the shelties. I didn't really fall in love with the sheltie until I got a tri coloured female by the name of Coppertowne Black Torch-lite when I was in my early 20's from then on, I was hooked! This was Gwen Hutchinson's fault of Quilcheena's Shelties, as she gave me Torchie and then there was Tally and on it goes. And all of that started with her kids throwing a big branch into my kids bedroom window when we moved next door to her shop :)!

Through all the different times in my life, the shelties have always come with me. They have been special friends as only shelties can be. We have had some success and some failures,  some of the dogs that have really stood out are, Ch. Madselin's X'tra Special CD ROMC  "Guy" was one and his two daughters Am/Can Ch Madselin Mountain Music and Ch. Madselin Dreamscape, both BISS winners. Guy was sold to Lyn Wolanski of Alberta at the tender age of 8 years old!. Lyn put his CD on him in 3 trials. Guy has produced 27 champions to my knowledge. There was also Ch. Madselin Song of Songs ROMC.

I have tried through the years, to keep the structure as good as I can and the health of the dogs as clear as possible.

Donna Tidswell (Harden) from Banchory kennels, helped me immensely. She had the "eye"
and didn't seem to mind all of my questions. Today, I still have dogs with the Banchory look.

I try and help the newcomers as they will be the next generation to be the keepers of our breed.

Today, my husband of almost 27 years, has been a great help to me. Building fences, dog sitting when I'm at a show to even delivering puppies when I had to go to the hospital. What a guy!

Hope you enjoy our home on the web.  It's been fun putting this together with the help of my good friend Karina Howell. Thank goodness she knows what she is doing!

We will try and keep the site updated to let you know what is happening in the Carbert household and Madselin shelties.
And.... don't forget our long haired minature dachshunds! There will be a page on them soon too!

We finally got our house sold and have moved down to the " Sunny Okanagan" here in Falkland, BC. This is where all of the vineyards and orchards are in BC.
Little did we know that we had moved into the snowbelt! Rather reminds you of Williams Lake! But the springs and summers are beautiful on our 88 acres with the little farm house and a river and creek running through the property.

We have lots of work to do here though but the dogs love it and so do we.
I've taken a few pictures of the place and the front page is of "Finny" running through the back pasture.

Going down to our back pasture. You can see the  Salmon River in the back.
